So on our cruising hobby- it will be interesting how they deal with it- especially since many countries the ships visit require 100% vaccinations or they deny that the ship can stop. Florida is re-ramping up their anti vaccine mandate thing, too- arguing they are can ban that kind of "discrimination"- even though the #1 port country sailing from Florida requires vaccines. Let alone the countries that require vaccines for flights. Lots of ships sail from Texas, just like they have international flights- both of which the destinations require vaccines.
Where do individual states have authority over international requirements?
The whole fight started with Florida complaining of government overreach in business, but businesses want to use the exact same guidelines all on their own- which Florida wants to overreach and not let them. It's as if a ship wants to put in emissions control devices on their own, but Florida bans it.

One other thing- separate the ideology that is out to murder people due to COVID19- the claim is that it will restore the economy. But oddly enough, as this keeps going on, people are still not participating AND they are not returning to work. So all of this idea to let the virus rage on is bad for the economy. Shocking, I know. It's not as if anyone predicted that back in the early months of this virus. Well, other than a LOT of smart people, some of which are on this very board.

The people with HIV didn't ignore science, take meds that were proven not to work then just deny the virus while spreading it to others while refusing tests. That is what fuckwits on The Right are doing. HIV was already a problematic spread before it started killing people. COVID is stoppable but some people choose to not do the basic level stuff required for living in a society. They get what they pay for...

Stop mistaking lack of caring for cheering.
It's also possible that people actually expect behaviors to change when high profile people doe from the very disease they are trying to keep going. Like "maybe NOW people will go out and get vaccinated, since X person just died". Hope in death. Sadly, people seem to be doubling down on not doing anything- and are even adding to the anti-reaction group.
Stop getting in the way of this disease being stopped, you are preventing the economy from recovering, let alone, letting people die in a VERY preventable way.

Really? You're comparing a virus with a readily available, free vaccine to the HIV epidemic that ran through an already stigmatized and marginalized group and for which the treatment to this day is still an expensive cocktail of drugs?

A lot of these morons actively undermined very simple precautions that would have saved thousands of lives. Wearing a mask and getting a shot are the most minor of inconveniences.
