This is unfortunately spot on. It is also how cults work. 'Murica's cult just has 72 million cultists. The only public policy decisions moving forward are how to redirect them from harming others.

Given how close some of the elections have been in states like Florida, and how close they are getting in Texas- well, the situation of one party literally killing themselves will work out for the better.

Hope so. Silver lining and all that. But as they keep eroding democracy faster than they die it's not helping yet.

If we can take TX and/or FL once it should all end since we can completely burn off all their BS and they will have to start again, and they will have to win an election on an even playing field. But for example that did not happen at the state level for Jim Crow I. We need federal action -- even federal troops. I think we will likely have to do that again. It is after all the same terrorists we are fighting again. It's the 'Murican Taliban. Same insane religion; same fetishism for violence, same misogyny, same incapacity to think in any other way but Medieval absolutism. This is a global struggle, not a local 'Murican problem. It's the separation of the lizard brains from the rest of humanity and their attempt to bomb us into submission to salve their fears and viciousness.

I hate to be such a cynic, but honestly... just let these assholes get sick and die. They were warned and they chose fucking ivermectin over reality. They have no place in a modern, functioning society.
 
I just don't get what it is about the horse dewormer that they think it will help. What do they think it's supposed to actually do? At least they gave some context around hydro cholor-whatever it's called.

I assume you mean take the TX or FL state legislatures, right? I don't see how TX or FL going blue in a presidential election, or even getting two blue senators from each, would really matter in the grand scheme.

The legislatures aren't that close. TX is 18R/13D (state senate) and 82/66 (state house), while FL is 42/16 and 78/42. We're a long way from "burning off the BS."

Two reasons. Pick an order:
  1. Because actual sciency people are telling them it's stupid, therefore it MUST be good!
  2. Because Dr. Trump went on and on about the now-discredited HCQ treatment. That was an anti-parasitic medication, and ivermectin is somewhat similar (de-wormer) sorta in a totally not-the-same kind o way, therefore it must be good!
Whichever way you slice it, it's born out of staggering stupidity.

And celebrities are lying to them about it. Especially Celebri-Docs. And frauds on the internet that will write prescriptions for anything bilk them for money so it must work!

I think this is the information I was looking for. Assuming these nimrods think COVID is a parasite, or that a parasite and virus are similar enough to treat with the same medicine. Good lord those people are freaks.
 
Just saw an NBC report about a National Religious Broadcaster spokesman was fired for saying that he got vaccinated and tries to help others make the same decision on an NBC morning show.

Fired for sort of advocating for the vaccine. Seriously.

This is going to end badly for a lot of people.
