I suppose if the plan is to bankrupt the hospital system for reasons, they are working. It's hilarious that people complain about fat people, but at the same time don't do anything about covid- when one is far more likely to make you end up in the hospital right now. Unless there's been a sudden rash of diabetes that nobody is talking about.

Trump is going to make sure he is in the news even if it takes away from The Afghanistan Debacle. And Faux just isnt even hiding their broadcasting misinformation anymore. I smell a lawsuit coming...both from Pfizer (because apparently boosters are being pushed for money) and Dominion since according to Aaron he was talking up the BS election fraud crap.

Maria Bartiromo is so dumb it hurts.

I'm not sure they'd have a case. There's nothing defamatory about claiming they were being pushed for money. That's... kind of the definition of capitalism.

If he said they kill you, they don't work, and you shouldn't get one and they can prove some sort damages... then yeah, maaaaaybe. Even then, I'm not sure they have a case.

Stage 3 of the trial is introducing the placebo element to see if it is the drug that is helping or if it is just the normal course for many of these sick people. Last part of the article rufus posted.

“As promising as the findings of the first phases of a treatment can be, no one can be sure of anything until results are compared to the ones of patients who receive a placebo,” he said.
Some 155 coronavirus patients will take part in the study. Two-thirds of them will be administered the drug, and one-third a placebo.
The study will be conducted in Israel and it might be also carried out in other places if the number of patients in the country will not suffice.
“We hope to complete it by the end of the year,” Arber said.

My daughter’s pediatrician told us at the 18-month checkup about 2 weeks ago that this round of testing for her 5-12 group is about to conclude. Then it’ll be about 5 months before the shots start going into arms. She thought it would be January for it to happen.

She also reminded us that she’s not an FDA official, she’s not a testing doc, and only in the know a little more than what’s available to the masses at large. So take it for what it’s worth. (She CYA’d herself from getting in trouble if her timeline was off.)

Way back, my uncle was in the polio vaccine study when he was a child. He hated shots. My grandmother always told us she was hoping he got the real shot, because she didn’t want to tell him he needed another shot.

it turned out, he got the real shot.
 
Listening today re the Booster and seeing stuff in the medical online sites-
The immunity to Delta with just 2 vaccines is approx 3 times as good as no vax. Another booster gives approx 11 times that of no vax.
The virus is so efficient at replication that for the first 5 days the vaccinated person sheds virus at the same level as those who are unvaccinated. This obviously increases the rate of spread
The more spread, the higher the risk for mutation. After 5 days this declines.
The kid thing is about the dosing and the incidence of the cardiac inflammation.
(Stunning fact- the incidence of serious reaction to smallpox vaccine was close to 1:800 yet people lined up...)
There are concerns the decision has been announced without the usual discussion and transparency.
The data coming out of Israel is compelling.

Agree that the brain drain caused by the Orange Menace and the dismantling of Public health system is a major cause for most of this. They didn't only lose scientists, researchers and admins. They dismantled the data collection systems, blocked access to data and stopped collecting some of it. You can't just hit a reset button. We have States that are self destructive and blocking data collection, States that have reinvented the wheel and are doing their own thing. There is no cohesive system and after the debacle of the last few yrs it will take a lot to re-establish trust enough for the smart States to be brought back into the fold. The stupid States- the ones where data would be most important to collect, will be gaps in data. You can't cure stupid. Unfortunately they will have their hands out for Federal funding with the catastrophic result of underfunding and refusal to prevent.

*this will of course not be socialism, the distribution from the wealthy, intelligently managed States to the stupidly run ones with no money left to run their healthcare systems is ....
