Grand Unified Election Thread 2: What is the difference between Biden and Dump?

I’m still nervous some rogue judges could start entertaining. We know many of the Rs in all levels of gov are nuts enough to do a coup

This is where lifetime appointments matter. Trump has zero sway over federal judges once appointed. No judge is going to go that batshiat crazy, not even Thomas.

PA lead crosses 50K and nationwide lead crosses 5M.
The thought just occurred to me that it's rather funny that Trumpers have spent the last 5 years complaining that the "lamestream" media has been whipping up a frenzy against Trump, and yet, now seem to have hard time believing that so many people might have come out to vote against him.

Logic is never on the menu when it comes to the GOP.

I see almost no outcome that Trump overturns this without an actual Civil War, and no one not in the Trump family would go that far. No recount has ever swung a state more than what, 2000 votes? No judge is going to invalidate hundreds of thousands of votes, which is what the Trump campaign is demanding in PA. It would take multiple state legislations to flip their electors in order to ensure a Trump win. There just aren't enough Trump rumpswabs to pull all of this off.

There's an old legal adage that seems apropos here. "When you have the facts, pound the facts. When you have the law, pound the law. When you have neither the facts nor the law, pound the table."

What we're seeing now is a child pounding the table. No more, no less.

Oh, you'd be surprised how many would be all in on the Civil War. It wouldn't just be Trump's.

Good point.

I worry as much about the Qnuts too. A lot of people are convinced the pedos have committed fraud and I really fear for election workers, people doing the recounts, and the government officials who certify results. But the GOP birthed, nurtured and coddled this movement amd now it may start eating its own

im dead serious when I say I think a elector, gov or SOS is gonna get shot over this

I've basically spent the past four years thinking this:

Oh, Dump wants to do _________. Well that S***s on the norms of democracy. There is no way the life-long political people allow him to do it cause it will tarnish them!

**5 minutes later**

Life-Long R politicians back Dump in his asinine efforts.

I've floated the idea in my head that Putin has dirt on the entire top 1/3 of the Republican party. They are all in it knowingly and are just pawns at this point. I'm still new to politics compared to many here on the board. Outside of the Civil War, has any group of politicians actively bucked accepted political norms as much as we've seen in the past 4 years?

The Republicans sold their soul to a Winning Ticket, but I don't think too many of them believe in what they're saying. They're already starting to slink off now. Slower than I'd prefer, but steady. Ted Cruz personally despises Donald Trump - once it becomes completely untenable to back his ludicrous challenges, he'll abandon him too, for example.

I'm just not going to let myself get worked up over things that haven't happened and aren't likely to happen. The internet isn't real life - most people off the internet aren't going to take up arms over this.

It’s not what el dump will do, it’s what his lemmings will do after January 20.

I think this is the real issue. There are simply no avenues for trump to succeed in his efforts to use the courts to do his bidding. If he was gonna succeed there, he likely already would have. He will eventually slink away. Never admitting defeat, just saying the chips are stacked against him. When it suits him he is just a simple man of the people, and at other times when it suits him he is a billionaire 10 or 12 times over. I give him 10 more days, tops.

The real problem is an insurgency. There are a LOT of people on the trump train and I think it is naive to think that even without the bully pulpit of the presidency he won't hold sway. He's going to monetize this whole last 4 years into a new TV network and millions of people will tune in.

I posted a link some weeks ago to an essay in Vice about the reality that we may already be in the early, or incipient stages of just such an insurgency. We've been slowly sinking into a nation with right wing terrorism becoming almost an afterthought. Mass shootings that are almost always carried out by some nutjob who holds extremist, often white supremist view. Racial violence has been on the rise steadily for 20 years now.

This is my worry. I never once, not for a second, changed the way I live my life because I feared the radical Islamist terrorist. They shot their wad on 9-11. 90% of the domestic terrorism we've suffered since 2001 has been perpetrated by American born, right wing white guys. That is what I fear, and we're going to see more and more of that in the coming years.

It happens more than you think...the problem is history tends to forget it. (and education is so dismantled no one studies it) People like to pretend that up until recently everything was hunky dory and both sides were closer to normal but that is almost never the case. I bring it up a lot but the election of 1876 is probably the most egregious example but in all honesty half the time people are selling out their beliefs, their souls and their party for power. They get in bed with enemies, bring about frivolous lawsuits to try and affect elections, lie about polls and use fake news to get their point across. We have fought multiple wars over BS stuff like that...

And if you believe Chris Coons he said behind the scenes the GOPers in Congress are telling him to congratulate Biden for them. This is all a dog and pony show to raise money, keep interest alive for the run offs and position themselves for the midterms and 2024. Even if you read half of their statements they leave themselves a ton of outs for when this all goes sideways. They are just waiting to be bailed out by PA or the courts.

Now...I totally believe Trumpers will do something stupid and dangerous. Even here in Minnesota they are friggin psychopaths. But the Trumps themselves are done and Jan 20th a Dem will lead the country.

“Therefore I win”

People...actually.....believe this

It’s 6d chess. Just you wait until the elite unit of the national guard finishes counting the secret watermarked ballots.

did you know, every non watermarked ballot is for Biden?
