  • The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways. Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar. We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.

New format fixes and workarounds

Anyone else getting an "email's must match" error when you try to save this?

Yes. It's probably because your userid autopopulates into the first email field. Overwrite it with your email, repeat it in the next field, and it worked for me. However you have to do this EVERY TIME you visit that page, which is getting really old really fast. :-(

My page used to work oldest at the top, newest at the bottom but it's now reverse.

Only 10 topics instead of 20 visible.

Go to Settings --> Account. Change view from Posts to Last Activity. Change Post Per Page to 20.

Rule of Thumb for a new UI is give it a week of exposure. It takes a while for the brain to adjust and it's uncomfortable. For a brief time it's like we're Republicans trying to survive in a world outside our own navels.

The functionality issues are a different story, though. For the ones that aren't solved by a different technique we have to lump it unless they accept RFCs.

Whoever "they" are.

i'm seeing a whole lot of blank screen. Both for fanforum.uscho.com and board.uscho.com

Yep, it's bad. Stripping out Avatars and User Customization helps, but if you're an adult and you like clean, simple human factors, you're fucked.

On the other hand, profanity is now selectively, not absolutely, *ed.

Clicking "Reset Fields" in the upper right also clears that field without changing any of the other settings. MUCH quicker way to resolve this one.

Thanks! I was afraid to try that for fear of nuking something irretrievable. Thankfully there are less risk-averse people here! :-)

When the site came back up, I went in on my iPad, both my iPhones, my personal laptop (which is a Mac) and my work laptop to log in and click Remember Me so every time I came back I was logged in. It worked on everything but my work laptop. I use Google Chrome to access the site. I go directly to board.uscho.com, click on Log In, put my screen name and password and clicked on Remember Me...and then nothing. I had to go into one of the forums, then log in and that works. Anyone else have that problem?

I've clicked every button, link, tab I can find.

UPDATE: But I can't seem to get the emoji's working. Guess I'm going old school 8-/ :D ;)

The URL changed to fanforum.uscho.com. Not sure if that impacts it.
