The GQP isn't fighting against "creating a police state".
They want a police state. With them in charge. They're fighting against anything that might stand in the way of that. You know, like going to jail for sedition against their own government, or any other laws they feel like they don't need to be accountable to.
I mean, you can't even lie to Congress and the FBI anymore, if you're a Republican. Times are hard. The struggle is real.

I’d be fine with this. Instead of more background checks, I would focus on better background checks. A lot of the shooters have passed background checks.

Consider the famous Shootout at the O.K. Corral had only three deaths and was so unusual we still talk about it 140 years later. Today it would be a blip on the radar.
