I was intrigued by the line in the article:

"Most rinks these days use electric-powered Zambonis".

Is this true? I assume electric-powered machines would not have propane bottles on them, which I think all I have seen are equipped with.

Most are propane. I've seen very few rinks with electric-powered Zambonis / Olympias.

Ah, yes. The Rhode Island Sports Center in North Smithfield. From the pics on their website, the place looks cleaned up. Coaching youth hockey there ten years ago, the pre-game speech started with "Don't take your socks off, don't drink the water, and don't touch anything"
