Women's DIII 2010-2011 Fan Opinion Poll

Mania

Who are these guys?!
It's getting close to that time of year again. I figured maybe we could do a preseason poll.

Here is the format we went with last year (with a few additions):

- Rank your teams 1 through 10. Only 10 will be accepted. Please include numbers next the teams so I know it is your poll otherwise I will just assume you are just discussing.
- Please don't give 2 polls (one for the west and one for the east), combine your poll and when everything is calculated I will post the overall top 10 and top 5 from each region.
- Please keep the "creative" names to a minimum, at least so I figure out what they are
- We will try and follow the USCHO Poll with games counting through Sunday for each weeks new poll.
- I will average the polls at some point every Tuesday
- DII teams will not be included since they cannot play in the playoffs
- Explanations to your rankings are appreciated but not necessary.
- Last year I said "lets try to keep the East vs. West comments to a minimum". I realize now that is impossible so lets just try to be nice.

If you are wondering how the polls are calculated what I do is give 1st place 10 pts, 2nd place 9 pts, 3rd place 8 pts and so on. The teams are then ranked after all votes are tallied. I also include 1st place votes next to the score although it doesn't effect the rankings unless there is a tie (which doesn't happen too often).

Anyways, feel free to post your preseason poll and discuss. I will be accepting preseason polls until 10/12. The first regular season poll will be 11/2.

I am sure this all takes more than a little of your time Mania, so thanks for stepping up and taking on the responsibility!

Re: Women's DIII 2010-2011 Fan Opinion Poll

The Corner Crew has always had a penchant for stepping up...Stellar bunch up there in the corner and I expect they will have plenty to cheer about this year...;)

I'm going to defer to Webbyboy on this poll...

No problem, I had some doubts about doing it again, but in the end I couldn't say no. :o :D

Re: Women's DIII 2010-2011 Fan Opinion Poll

Will the Corner Crew be making the trip to Northfield in the end of October?

Most of us will probably be going to Cornell to watch the men's game but who knows...it could happen.

Re: Women's DIII 2010-2011 Fan Opinion Poll

Since noone is being brave

1. Amherst
2. Norwich
3. Elmira
4. Gustavus
5. Plattsburgh
6. River Falls
7. RIT
8. Lake Forest
9. Adrian
10. Neumann!

I haven't followed as much what the Eastern teams have lost/gained...but I figure at this point inherently they should be higher. I basically went with the final four from last year as my top 4. The rest are kind of a wash...and I have to put Neumann in for MIC's sake.

Re: Women's DIII 2010-2011 Fan Opinion Poll

1) Amherst -- getting used to it
2) Plattsburgh -- not wanting to get used to it
3) Gustavus -- getting used to "if's"
4) Manhattanville -- getting "youse'd" into fits (not happy to be left out)
5) Norwich -- if getting their used hits (LeClerc/Dunning)
6) Middlebury -- gently used tidbits
7) Elmira -- awfully used to bits
8) Bowdoin -- getting useful, to whit
9) River Falls -- getting us to see it
10) St. Norbert -- get UST at it

PS -- RIT hosts, but I couldn't rhyme/rap them into my poll -- I can never figure them out either ("getting jiggy with RIT??")

Of course, these are blind shots in the dark -- but I will stand (cower) behind them all (for a month)...:-)

I'm going to revise my poll since I don't know enough about the Eastern teams and I'm clearly too lazy to bother any research.

1. River Falls
2. Gustavus
3. Lake Forest
4. Superior
5. Adrian
6. St Kate
7. Chatham
8. Plymouth State...they have a women's team right??
9. MIT
10. Neumann

I like the person who neg repped me saying that MIT doesn't have a team anymore...no ****...eventhough I'm sure he/she couldn't come close to naming all of the western teams.
