SOG has a bit of a subjective nature to it very similar to ball/strike calls in baseball. I my experience, generally if the goalie plays the puck it will be counted as a SOG even if it wouldn't have gone in if the goalie hadn't played it. Thus SOG counts are nearly always inflated to some degree.


No I was jokingly referring to the wrap around dump-ins that the goalie plays behind the net because that seems to be the only way Bennett touched the puck that many times in the 3rd by my count.
