There is a hanging chad on my submitted ballot. It's not what I intended.

Where are you -- Florida? Were the options presented in some strange, butterfly format? Sorry, I tried to make it straightforward, but as I look at it now, it does seem kind of busy. Abbreviating UND, BC and BU may have helped.

LOL ... You would think. It is straight forward. Reading laziness on my part was the primary contributing factor.

You got Cornell right. After that, you were just picking future victims of the Big Red. :)

Re: Which teams advance to the Frozen Four in Duluth?

Went with 3 favs and one road team. IMHO, Toughest game to pick is Cornell vs BU. Rematch of last year's semi. Went with the Big Red on several factors.

- Their loss last weekend was a wakeup call.
- They will have last year's loss on their minds.
- They are playing at home.
- While BU has improved down the stretch, it has not been that convincing.

That's the plan. ;)

I intended to vote as follows: Wisconsin, Minnesota, Cornell, St. Lawrence.

I would love to see Mercyhurst upset Wisconsin. St. Lawrence and BC should be a great game, but I think McDonald will steal it for St. Lawrence, if she plays anywhere near as good as she did last Saturday against Cornell.

Re: Which teams advance to the Frozen Four in Duluth?

Interesting, at least as of the 24 voter mark, score 16 for St. Lawrence vs. 8 for BC. Didn't see that coming!

Nice to see you back. We missed your wit, wisdom and humor.

Not surprised at the SLU over BC voting pattern. SLU had one of the best records since Dec 1, 19-2-1 IIRC, beating some pretty good teams along the way. BC on the other hand did not close out convincingly. Like many voters, went with the Hot hand.

P.S.....At the 37 voter mark little love for the Hurst. 3 of 37, which just about matches their probability to win (10%), as per Lakersfan.

The breakdown:

Wisco.. 34 of 37 votes
Minny.. 31 of 37 votes
SLU..... 21 of 37 votes
Cornell. 20 of 37 votes
BU...... 17 of 37
BC...... 16 of 37
UND ..... 6 of 37
MC........ 3 of 37

Just looking at the poll, it appears to me very, very evident that no matter what happens there will be four very good hockey teams in Duluth weekend after next.

And after all, isn't that what we have all been hoping for all along?

Agreed, unless BC beats SLU. Notice that BC is the only team in the field without a regular season or conference championship this year ;) :p

North Dakota doesn't have one yet either. Northeastern and RMU, two teams that did win titles, aren't included. And for the first time in my memory, no team in the field owns multiple crowns this season.

Oops, forgot about UND.

But lets' think of joint champions --- 2005-2011 Mercyhurst won both CHA titles and made the tourney (and there surely many others), 2004 Harvard & Minnesota, 2003 UMD, 2002 Minnesota, 2001 Dartmouth, 2000 Brown, 1999 Harvard. So I think you have to go back to 1998, where Brown won the ECAC tourney and UNH won the ECAC regular season title, and there was no WCHA.

Re: Which teams advance to the Frozen Four in Duluth?

Here are the updated stats of the votes in todate.

Code:
Wisco	58/64	91%
Minny	53/64	83%
SLU…	38/64	59%
Cornell	32/64	50%
BU	32/64	50%
BC	26/64	41%
UND	11/64	17%
MC	06/64	9%

Death heath for Cornell vs BU.

Bro played for SLU.
Men's.

He sky high.
He one who actually owns, Papula Isle.

MacDonald huge.

I expected Sabatine to get MVP.
Can you top this (her unbelievable record):
* Five (5) of eleven (11) SLU goals in ECAC tourney;

* First (of possible three games) against Dartmouth (4-3 win in OT): two (2) goals, OT winning goal.
* Second (of possible three games) against Dartmouth (2-0 win): one (1) assist.
* Harvard (one game) (2-0 win): both goals including OT winner.
* Cornell (one game) (3-1 win): one goal, winning goal- with 18:10 gone in third period.

MacDonald MUST HAVE BEEN SOMETHING to win MVP over that!
Apparently was. And I guess those of you who were there would educate, Pap.:D

I was at the Final game, and MacDonald was the correct choice in the game I saw, but you are absolutly correct, that Sabatine is playing really well, and drives the engine. Having said that, my impression of the SLU win was that it was a total team effort. The coach got this team playing with a plan and they executed. It was great to watch the different strategies during this game.

IIRC that is just north of SLU on the SL Seaway.
