When does the weekend truly begin?

I say Thursday afternoon. That's 70% of the work week complete, and it was enough of a work ethic to get me through college. This is not to say I head home at 1200 on Thursdays, but my attitude shifts to weekend-mode at that point.

I'm in the office M-F, 8-5. The weekend starts for me when I walk out the door on Friday, and ends when I turn the lights out on Sunday night.

This question has two answers, in the summer, the weekends begin at lunch on Friday, in the winter at the end of the workday.

I'm with Hammer here... my job doesn't let me think about the weekend until I'm free of the shackles.

Of course this weekend starts for me today at 3:00 and goes until Monday evening... the advantages of a 4-day weekend!

If only my weekend started any other time but after work on Fri.

After work on Friday. If Im still at work, its not the weekend yet. Once I leave work and dont have to think about that place until Monday, thats the true start of the weekend.

Agreed.

Used to be Thursday after work for me, when they allowed a compressed work week. Unfortunately that's not allowed anymore. Not sure why.
