That is probably true. However, I encourage all North Dakota fans with Sioux in their username to change it in response of the best wishes of the UND admin.Considering they have allowed posters with "redskin" in it to survive, I doubt USCHO would try to remove "Sioux" from existing posters names.
Not a big surprise. UND has asked all media to stop using the logo and Fighting Sioux nickname. As far as changing my username, I am preparing to do so, and will as soon as hell freezes over.
USCHO won't ask the posters to change their names. Can't say whether the school will ask us to ask you ...
I would have been quite surprised if USCHO asked users to change their names. It makes me wonder what conversations have been had between UND and SiouxSports.com. Since there is no affiliation, maybe UND asked them to change but got a polite "no" in response. Anyone know more?
Just curious, has there been a purge of Sioux gear from university bookstores?
Can't be made to happen as posters here are individuals, not affiliates of the programs they support so the freedom of expression clause of the constitutional freedom of speech applies.USCHO won't ask the posters to change their names. Can't say whether the school will ask us to ask you ...

I was more or less claiming the NCAA can't make those who run the forum or those who post here conform. Yeah, the forum people can do what they want on their guidelines but I think they want to show they have more class than the NCAA so I doubt they would make such a change.Private board. Their rules. (sorry Ed): you can't say ***** (scientific name for male organ), but can say cum guzzling whore. Their rules are law.

The University of North Dakota sellers will be able to sell off their remaining inventory. In other words, one last chance to get a Fighting Sioux jersey / shirt / cap ...I was curious on this as well... Looking to maybe get a jersey... Do I have to go for a 3rd party seller now?
I feel those who have become sensitive to the plight of the red man to ban names & mascots are misguided. I have both indian and white ancestory and I wouldn't change a thing to history as it would remove my existance and the growth and achievement of our nation. Nothing we do now changes a thing about the past and injustice against one group from another covers the entire history of the world so it's pointless to try to change things. When I see the members of the NCAA who voted to remove the indian references deed their homes and property back to whatever tribe had occupied the land originally then I'll believe their sincerity. Otherwise don't ask others to give something up to the cause if you won't.IF the board is on contracts with NCAA for polls and such, that sort of thing, they would be obligated to the NCAA rules, I think. However, since they COULD be an independent source (since polls don't matter, it's PWR), USCHO can claim independence, and not conform to the NCAA ruling. It basically is a censorship thing, honestly, unless a poster is proven to be associated with UND.
