Westfield State College seeks applicants for the Head Ice Hockey Coach will oversee all aspects of managing the college's ice hockey program. Responsibilities will include: evaluate and recruit qualified student-athletes, organize and conduct team practices and contests; prepare team scheduling and budget management, and conduct team fundraising activities. The head coach will also hire, train and supervise part-time assistant coaches. Must adhere to all NCAA Division III, conference, and institutional policies and regulations. Additionally, the successful candidate will also function as the Athletic Facilities Manager and will be responsible for the supervision and management of the Woodward Center, Athletic Fields, Athletic Storage Building and Parenzo Gymnasium. The successful candidate will hire, train, supervise and evaluate staff as required to operate the various functions and programs of the facilities, including the fitness center, field house, climbing wall, athletic fields and other facilities within the building. As facility manager the successful candidate will be required to work with other college departments in order to coordinate activities and programs for the athletic facilities and assist with the creation and development of the annual budget for the Woodward Center.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in education
* Business, sports management, or related field
* Strong computer skills required
* Ability to work evenings and weekends required
* Coaching experience in ice hockey
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's degree
* Athletic administration experience
* Supervisory experience
* Coaching experience at the collegiate level
