Westfield State Coaching Position Posted

Re: Westfield State Coaching Position Posted

USHR reported this about a month ago. Brown is also rumored to name Mark White, who is the assistant at Bentley to be the other assistant at Brown.

Who is the right fit or best for Westfield?

Re: Westfield State Coaching Position Posted

WSC’s posting shows they want another fulltimer, a coach to run their up’n’coming hockey pgm & manage their extensive athletic facilities. With almost the whole team returning from last season’s successful inaugural year, should be a great opp for someone out there but the timing of it is against them.

Jerry Keefe and Mark White are at last announced as Assistant Coaches at Brown, while Jerry Keefe remains listed as head coach at Westfield.

As a potential copyright infringement, Brown's announcement of Jerry as their assistant uses a cropped photo of Westfield's announcement when they hired him as head coach.

Who cares, if they borrowed the picture? Also how do you know if they didn't get permission from Westfield State?

Potential -means just that, the possibility for, not that they did, IMO, it was cheap at best on Brown's part not to take their own photo, and perhaps they did ask Westfield for permission to use the photo, which, I would find at best an insult to injury, given the bind losing your head coach must be just six weeks before the start of the season, both to the school and the players (I’ll recruit you, but leave you hanging). I understand WIFM (What’s In it For Me) and doing what is best for oneself and one’s career, myself, I couldn’t do it, I couldn’t recruit players and leave them at the last minute, but to each his own.

As we try to rebuild Brown's hockey program, we're elated to have a person of Jerry Keefe's caliber as our First Assistant.

It was great news when Westfield State hired Jerry Keefe to revive its hockey program. I wish you the best on your search for Keefe's replacement.

Re: Westfield State Coaching Position Posted

Westfield State's coaching position has been officially posted on the college's website . . .

https://jobs.wsc.ma.edu/applicants/jsp/shared/frameset/Frameset.jsp?time=1251846734518

Apparently, coach Jerry Keefe is moving on to Brown University as an assistant coach there . . . .

The job posting no longer is present at the WSC site, but is still listed here. I do not see that they have announced a replacement, though Assistant Coach Bob Miele now appears in place of Jerry. Anyone have any updates?
