Re: WCHA once again the top conference
I sense doubters.
Very well, here's a short excerpt from the Iron County Times Picayune:
This Week in the ICCCC
by Scoop Zblewski
The week ICCCC fans have been waiting for all season is finally upon us as undefeated and perennial conference power Moot's Bluff Beauty Tech (18-0-0) faces off against arch rival Kringel Point Online College (17-0-1) Fans will remember KPOC's lone draw coming in the first game of the season when right winger Smitty "Smit" Smitheson's (42G 56A) dog, Puddle Jump (11G 9A), knocked over leading scorer Harv "Thumbs" Anderson's (64G 72A) three-quarter full Shanty Light off the bench corner, causing to "Thumbs" be unavailable for the entire third period. Cup holders were immediately installed post game and the Muskrat's have been rolling ever since. You can quote this reporter when I say that the winner of this halfway point clash will ABSOLUTELY win the coveted Triple D Cup! (Given to the ICCCC champion every year since 1985, when sadly, Miss Maude "My girls know how to pluck!" Everson's Rooming House and Goose Plucking Emporium was closed.)
Coming into the contest, the MBBT Smoochies are paced by 7th year sophomore sensation Skeetch "Ice Breaker" McDougan. Though not the biggest boy in the conference, at 6'8" and 335 pounds the "Ice Breaker's" astonishing foot speed certainly makes him a force to be reckoned with on the break out. McDougan's 114 goals and 167 helpers this season have him on pace to break into the all time top twenty scorers in conference history. Observers argue that Skeetch's solid season should be even more highly regarded as overall scoring is down dramatically in the league this year.
Part of the reason for that is certainly due to KPOC's outstanding rookie net-minder, Kwa' Dou Ju' "The Great Wall" Shymanski. The Barbados exchange student and 11th degree black belt has taken to the net like Willie Nelson to Doritos this season. His 154 saves/game average is by far tops in the conference and he's red hot after making 92 stops in 4 minutes on the short end of a 5-0 powerplay to hold on at the end of last Saturday night's thriller against the 3rd place Timberton U Slophogs. Ironically, all five penalties were assessed against Shymanski after he applied "the stork" technique to TU's blue liners, reportedly in response to an unidentified Hog's comment made during a pile up about poles.
As reported yesterday, please note that the game has been moved to the MBBT Smoochies' new Salon and Sauna facility on Skunk Lake, owing to the fact that KPOC's coach Skeg Steddington's uncle Lester's plow truck is in the shop. Puck drops at 12:05 am ( Tilly's bar is closing early.) Fans are also warned that turning on their highbeams when opponents are on the rush will no longer be tolerated due to BHC's Pug Shockley inadvertently skating into the ice hole outside MBBT's new Sauna in the 2nd period two weeks ago. (He has been found.)
See you there ICCCC'ers!
