USNDP Under 18 2009-10 Schedule

Western College Hockey has a link to the USNDP Under-18 Schedule.

The team will play 26 games in the USHL and then goes on the road to play Michigan, BC, BU, WI, Cornell, Maine & MSU among others.

Then they have tournaments in Finland, Russia & Belarus.

Holy smokes what a schedule.

GB, I haven't really followed the NTDP or the USHL in the past, so I'm kinda clueless here. I understand that moving to the USHL is a positive for the NTDP, but I can see that you're not exactly enthusiastic about this move from a USHL perspective. Can you clue me in?

Not trying to speak for GB Puck fan here but I wouldn't be overjoyed if I were a fan of a particular team in the USHL either.

I mean here you have an entity in the NTDP that does not participate in the draft, does not have to have a player protected list and can recruit any player they want, when they want, so long as he is under the age of 18.

I suppose the NTDP is dangling a nice chunk of change to make the USHL admit them into their league despite retaining their total autonomy in making decisions.

Won't the USNDT draw bigger than usual crowds in USHL cities?

Won't they bring extra media attention and more pro scouts to the games?

I remember when the NTDP was in the NAHL, playing against the Soo Indians. The crowds were no bigger than usual, nor were there any more pro scouts.

Argh... they are back on our schedule again... I was enjoying the years of not being forced to buy these tickets with the season ticket package...
