Doubt this thread will garner 100's and 100's of posts, but here it is anyway! A place to go over the weekend to chat, rant about the annual rivalry. I'm sure there will be plenty of "you ain't got no hardware" chants in the 'Whitt tonight :eek: and who knows what the Maine student section has planned for tomorrow night, (if anyone remembers 2 years ago...:p) but it still promises to be a series the teams look forward to. Game predicts:

Friday: UNH 3 Maine 1
Saturday: UNH 2 Maine 0 (ok, perfect world outcome always tough to play at the Alfond)

I'm backing Maine 4-2 tonight and 2-1 tomorrow night. I've probably completely jinxed them by posting this. I hope everyone going tonight has a great time.

Ara Nazarian returns tonight will start in the 2nd line with Miller and Vela. Usual Frosh 3rd. Boyd in a D pair Eiserman skates on the 4th. Go ''Cats!

Good play from both team in the first. Each goalie with a couple of big saves. Maine gets a break (finally) with the deflection of Cleland's skate. Maine d-men are going to need to get the puck out of the defensive zone cleaner. Too many turnovers. Only a matter of time before UNH converts.

Full disclosure: Back in the Kariya and Krog days, I secretly kind of agreed with the UNHers around here on the merits of Olympic ice.

In 2016, I think I see the counterargument. These teams would be better off on an NHL sheet.

Maine has to stay out of the box in the third. Not many teams can match UNH power play at home.

UHN cycles the puck in the zone and its as if Maine is down 2 or 3 guys.

Maine never recovered after the Schurhamer misconduct. Completely lost any offensive rhythm. UNH was able to create mismatches all night with their top line. Kelleher second goal was a thing a beauty. Disappointing final score for Maine tonight. Revenge game tomorrow night at the Alfond!
