UNH Wildcats 2010-2011

DC78-82

Shoot the Puck :)
The girls are skating again, albeit in Dover while the new boards are being installed, so the off-season is officially over! :)

Re: UNH Wildcats 2010-2011

Speaking of the boards. Lest anyone not believe in global climate change, the glacial Lake Whitt has suffered a shrinking of the ice field, and will be a smaller surface than we've seen in the past. (defensemen will be rejoicing at the shorter trip to the corner)

Re: UNH Wildcats 2010-2011

100by200 and the deep corners are gone. What do you mean Hux, I'm confused? Is this a food thing? :)

The size, which is Olympic. (100 feet wide by 200 feet long)

However, the Whitt is probably the biggest sheet, square footage wise, in North America thanks to very deep corners. Where most rinks start their corners just shy of the hash marks on the circles, the Whitt's start at the goal line. The radius is small, which results in a "squarish" corner and a long back wall behind the net.

I recall one rink being 104 feet wide, somewhere in the north country (Upstate NY)

Of course it's olympic....deep corners? What the heck, square, must be American. :) Boston Garden, there is a defenceman's rink. Square?

Re: UNH Wildcats 2010-2011

Roster finally updated.

http://www.unhwildcats.com/sports/wice/2010-11/roster

Forward:

Allen
O'Neill
Lavoie
Horn
Gifford
Goloubef
Clark
Morrison
Skudder
Campbell
Armstrong
Kleinendorst

Defense:

Sheary
Brock
Hunt
Farris
Cuthbert
Dziengelewski
Chappell
Birchard

Goaltender:

Herman
Minton

So...Horn back to forward and Farris back to D. Cuthbert also listed as a D; iirc, she's been listed as F/D in the past.

Talk about young up front.

One of the two goalies really need to step up this year.
