The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
It figures that the only thing to celebrate in the UNH athletic department came from Orono, Maine. And they say we are never nice to them. They should be thankful, and even give us free snacks at the Whitemore from now on.
I do not buy that UConn is a "much bigger" win for UMaine fans than a win over UNH. Despite much investment and hype their program just isn't that much further ahead than the hapless team from Durham. And that is nothing to speak of the historic rivalry between UNH and UMaine.
I didn't even mention Maine fans until a later post....and yes many older Maine fans consider UNH a big rival and big win. As it relates to the UMaine program in 2025 though....UMass and UConn are absolutely bigger games and bigger wins in the grand scheme of things. I know that doesn't fit everyone's hype narrative but that's the way I see it.

We also celebrated UNH first-year Jayden Buckrell’s (Collingwood, Ontario) NCAA National Championship in Men’s Slalom (that is in alpine skiing) in March 2025.

Sure, college hockey is a niche sport, but it garners way more interest than the 50-yard dash or hurling a discus. But again, thanks for sending what's-her-name down.
