Re: UMA @ RPI, Sunday, 12/29/19 (5 PM)

Ralph: Thanks for starting this one early. Obviously we are big underdogs in the eyes of most. We have had a nice long rest, we are at home, we might have a bit of impetus from a stirring last second win in our previous game, and we have a lot to prove. So often at times like this, in the past several years, we have come out with good intentions but flat as a pancake. It is up to our upperclassmen and our coaching staff to insure that does not happen. We have to be a fired up team from the opening drop of the puck as the remainder of the season may well depend on the early part of this afternoon's game. UMass is just too solid a team for us to allow for any early errors, or any reticence. The longer we can keep this one a close match, the better chance we have for the pressure to be felt by them. We have to travel up for the always dreaded North Country Trip next and then we host Cornell and Colgate. So, if not now? When?? Would it not be just lovely to be able to celebrate this New Year's Eve after giving a full out 100% performance a couple days earlier? GO RED!!!!!

I wonder how much will be gained from the way we defeated Brown with the long layoff. I agree that with the opponents the next couple of weeks, we have to stay on a level of the last minute of the Brown game.

Re: UMA @ RPI, Sunday, 12/29/19 (5 PM)

UMass will be without their best defenseman, so maybe the odds aren't as great as they might have been.
Even without him, they are no pushover. We are going to have to be at our best from the drop of the puck.

Lets Go Red!!!!!!

Re: UMA @ RPI, Sunday, 12/29/19 (5 PM)

Not expecting much of a crowd with a 5 PM start, the students on break, and a forecast of freezing rain in the higher elevations. Should be an interesting trip home through the Berkshires for UMass.

Hmmmm! The HFH is certainly in Troy's upper elevations. :D

Anyone know who is starting in net?

Found it

RPI looks to be starting junior Alec Calvaruso in goal. The Colorado College transfer won his first start for RPI 2-1 over Brown last time out.
