UConn Holiday Tournament

kdiff77

Ever True since '92
Minnesota St. leads Brown 1-0 on a fluky goal that appeared to hit the glass behind the net, bounce back over into the crease, and hit off of goalie Anthony Borelli's glove and into the net. There have been some good chances for both teams, but MSU has probably had the upper hand.

Re: UConn Holiday Tournament

At the end of 1, it remains 1-0, with shots 12-11 in favor of the Mavericks. Solid period form both teams overall. The refs are letting a lot of physical play go, which I like.

Re: UConn Holiday Tournament

Brown has come out flying in the second. Very physical, creating good opportunities.

Re: UConn Holiday Tournament

Still 1-0 after two. Extremely fast-paced game- it's the second intermission and the game started just an hour ago. Just one penalty so far, on MSU. Brown dominated the period but failed to take advantage, getting just four shots through a stingy Maverick defense.

Re: UConn Holiday Tournament

Both teams rang the pipe this period, so we're a few fractions of an inch away from a 2-1 scoreline.

Re: UConn Holiday Tournament

MSU took a 2-0 lead on the power play on a nice one-timer by LaFontaine. On another MSU power play, Brown gets a shortie from Mark Naclerio. 2-1 now with under 7 to go. Could be a fun ending.

Re: UConn Holiday Tournament

Timeout Brown with under 2 to go. This has turned into a really great game!

Re: UConn Holiday Tournament

After a frantic sequence in which all six Brown skaters crashed the MSU net and had chances to put it past a flailing goalie, LaFontaine ices it with 4 seconds left on a clearance that found its way into the empty net. Entertaining game to watch from both sides. MSU should very easily dispatch of whoever they play tomorrow.

Final:

Minnesota State 3, Brown 1.

Re: UConn Holiday Tournament

Good win by MSU! Brown's defensive play was impressive. We'll have to see how the late game turns out.

I thought MSU's defense was terrific. Your goaltender had great positioning, and though Brown had plenty of possession in the offensive zone, not many pucks got through the stout Maverick defense. Congrats on a good win!

Re: UConn Holiday Tournament

After a period of play in the consolation game, Brown leads AIC 3-1 on the strength of two PP goals. An AIC player got a game misconduct and five-minute major, but nobody seems to know why. Anyway, Brown cashed in, and is outshooting the Jackets 17-6 after they struck just 15 seconds into the game.

Re: UConn Holiday Tournament

Brown up 6-2 late in the third. Both teams have been a little flat, and Brown has peppered the AIC goalie.

Re: UConn Holiday Tournament

Lamacchia makes it 7. I know it's AIC, but Brown really needed a confidence-booster like this game.
