UAF is in (for the first time evah!)

Re: UAF is in (for the first time evah!)

Maine and BC are in overtime. If Maine wins, the Nanooks should barely squeak in as probably the #16 seed, but I'll believe it when I see it on the selection show.

If BC wins then we get to sleep in and not get up at 7:30 AM for the selection show. :D

Regardless, every Nanook fan owes the Cornell Big Red a big thank you, because without that ECAC win over Union the 'Nooks could very well be on the outside looking on.

Re: UAF is in (for the first time evah!)

Hopefully they'll play the video opening which I've heard about, but haven't actually watched yet....

Re: UAF is in (for the first time evah!)

BC wins in OT! According to the seedings I saw, it looks we are in BC's bracket in round one. Almost unbelievable that it finally happened after all these years.

GO NOOKS!!!!!!!!!

Re: UAF is in (for the first time evah!)

Silly Nanooks, of course you'd make it, NMU beat you in round two. It's happened 3 straight years.

Of course this year we decided to make the tourney, too.

Best of luck.

Welcome to Worcester!

You will be paired with BC, North Dakota and Michigan.

Good luck! :p

Re: UAF is in (for the first time evah!)

Congrats to Alaska. Good luck and I hope some of you folks are able to find a way to see the games in person. It must have sucked sitting back and having to wait and see how everything played out, but it played out in your favor. No go out and represent the CCHA well!

Nice going 'Laskans. It's really nice to see you folks in the tournament.

I like that "evah" is included as part of the title. Is that supposed to be a reference to the fact that Alaska is heading out to Worcester (or Woostah as people in Mass call it)?

Anyway, congrats Alaska. If you guys even bring 1/100th of the fans to Worcester that Maine brought to the Garden this weekend, I'll be impressed. See you next week! :)

P.S. Will your state's most famous hockey mom be making the trip? Or is she an Anchorage fan? ;)

The evah was a nod to where it looked like the team would end up.

On the road UAF usually gets a small but vocal groups of fans that show up at games. Anyone in the area with any connection at all to Alaska hockey will be at the game, might only be a couple hundred but you should know they are there.

I hope Palin doesn't show up, she did I think drop the puck at a Governor's Cup game years ago, but I don't want this team to be associated with her. I could almost imagine her trying to get some facetime somehow and it would bring attention to the team and hockey, I wouldn't be shocked if she somehow showed up.
