Hard for me to be involved in any updates for this thread since i will not be able to see the game or listen to the game. But might check in every so often to see how things are going.

How long has it been since RPI played Toronto?

Last time the Engineers played the Varsity Blues, they did so as defending NCAA champions. It was the first game of the 1985-86 season. RPI won, 12-2.

Probably safe to say that none of the players on either of the current teams was alive at the time.

And just to continue with the history - the FIRST time the Engineers played the Varsity Blues, it was also as defending NCAA champions. The meeting came in the RPI Invitational (as it was then known) tournament in December 1954.

Toronto won that game, 3-1. They were the tournament champions that year.

Jen and i saw them play at the HFH on December 29th 1984 in a game we won 4-2. Extremely physical game the night after we blew out Miami in the first game of the Xmas Tournament.

BTW-after the game Jenny went up to coach Addesa and told him we would see him in Lake Placid in a few months and I added perhaps we might see him in Detroit after that and he laughed! We were able to do both.

I was at that game also.
