The news for hockey in Illinois isn't great. The state had the second worst year over year for USA Hockey membership growth in the country, with membership for 18-19 down 5.5% from 17-18.
California leapfrogged Illinois and Pennsylvania and is now the 5th biggest state for USA Hockey.
