USA opens today against Slovakia with Brianna Decker assistant coaching. Early in the 3rd the floodgates opened with USA scoring 5 in quick succession to go up 6-1.
Ohio State commit Josie St.Martin is on fire.

USA wins today against Sweden 4-0 and plays Germany in the quarterfinals Thursday at 2:30 on NHL network.

Canada has been on fire too and I fully expect it to be a USA-Canada gold medal game on Sunday

Josie St.Martin scores twice in the first four minutes against Germany. If the Muzzinator is watching I'm sure she has a big grin thinking "And I've got her signed!"

Fun to watch the 6 future Badgers at the U18 worlds. Pretty cool that 3 of them are captains of their respective teams: Maggie Scannell (US), Emma Venusio (Canada) and Adela Sapovalivova from Czechia. Sapovalivova has been outstanding the past 2 worlds and has 7 goals this year. She is the 1st European that will attend Wisconsin.

Rhyan Stewart has been very good in goal for the Canadians in her 2 games. The future is very bright in Madison.

Thanks Bonzo! I was hoping someone else would be posting about their teams future players as well.
If I read the schedule correctly USA plays Finland on Saturday at 1:00pm. If we win that game we'd play Sunday for the gold.

Huge upset! However I am excited to see Adela Sapivalivova (future Badger) play against the US in the finals assuming no 2nd upset.

Also really excited for Carla MacLeod, the former Badger that coaches the Czechia Women’s national team. MacLeod lead the team to a bronze last yr at world’s with a very young Sapivalivova being a key contributor.

After 2 periods, USA is up 2-1 vs Czechia in the gold medal game. Czechia had a power-play goal from Wisconsin recruit Adela Sapovalivova a minute and a half before the end of the 2nd, and they are currently pressing.

ESPN+ is airing the TSN broadcast, and Yale recruit Molly Boyle (D) was interviewed.

GOLD for USA!
So proud of these young ladies and can't wait for next year's games!
My vote for tournament MVP would go to Josie St.Martin and her being an Ohio Commit has nothing to do with it.

Josie St. Martin was amazing the entire tournament! Can't wait to see her rocking a Scarlet & Gray sweater next season! And how about another future Buckeye (Kassidy Carmichael) scoring two goals today and getting player of the game for Team USA?

Had to expect points to be a bit elevated this year with 1 more game being played (top teams would ever only play 5 prior to this year as opposed to 6). In prior tournaments the US & Canada would only ever really play other Group A teams (and usually each other 2x). This year they never crossed paths which is unfortunate.
