Honestly, I know when you lose 4-2 and 5-1, it probably sounds like we're placating you, but you guys outplayed us for much of the weekend, it was more issues when you'd take penalties. You guys are certainly a better team than your record indicates.

Hope you guys start catching some bounces later on in the year.

Russell has said the same - we're not a terrible team 5 on 5. The way we came out in the first I thought we were at least going to make a respectable game of this. I don't know what it is about taking that extra man away that makes us so brutal, especially on what once was a killer defensive team.

Even our powerplay has been converting more often than it did three years ago. The PK and stupid penalties are just an unmitigated disaster that is sinking the whole ship.

At first I thought it was youth, but as the weeks drag on without anything more than occasional, temporary improvement, I'm beginning to doubt that more and more.

I know, but I actually mean it. I was dumb enough to go out on a limb and say that they'd for sure finish ahead of UAA, and if they stayed healthy, could compete for 6th down the stretch and end up 8th or even 7th. :eek:

I thought the same, don't worry. You aren't the first person to be wrong about Tech hockey, that's for d@mn sure.

I wouldn't go that far. At the start of the season we pretty much accepted we were going to finish 10th; despite any improvements, no way were we making up a 12-point gap to 9th in one season.

This has been something else, though.

Well, I remember that I looked at the other two likely bottomfeeders and figured we had a shot at 8th if we stayed healthy and showed steady improvement. So much for that. :rolleyes: :(
