Today is Patriots' Day in Massachusetts, the traditional day for the running of the Boston Marathon.

Usually a festive day. However, I just saw news report of explosions near the finish line on Boylston St. I hope everyone is safe.

Holy ****!!! Just turned on the news!! Two bombs went off. This is ridiculous!! I hope my cousin is OK!! He was running today and this is probably the time he would have been finishing. I'm a little scared right now.

coming out of retirement for this...I know a couple people running Boston this year, and have yet to hear that they are okay. While speculation might be dangerous, I'm assuming the worst. This is the biggest marathon of the year, the biggest road race. The explosions happened where the most people would be gathered. Please hope and just hope.

I know a guy from college that works for the NBC affiliate's website and one of my buddies is running in it. The latter one is ok, but the web guy was outside at the marathon covering it and no one's heard from him. Hoping he's OK.

Hearing lots of lower leg injuries. That's consistent with IEDs. They're designed to maim, not to kill.

Saying a third bomb has been found at the Mandarin Hotel.

Just heard from my cousin, he's OK but was on target to finish right about that time. He had to stop at 25.2 miles. Thank you God. I literally just burst into tears for a few minutes. :(

Report of two soldiers who helped triage at the site right after and then ran (literally) to the hospital to give blood.

Well done.
