The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Yes, this post is confusing D3 club with NCAA DIII. This is the second time this poster has done this. I tried to explain the mistake then, but they apparently only report the news and then never read any of the comments.
Davenport and Oakland are D1 club hockey, both are former D2 teams that jumped up after a string on National Championships.
However, in response to cooperalls, I'd say that D2's Grand Valley State (cross-town rivals of Davenport) is actually slightly better than either of those teams this season (with the head-to-head results to prove it). Which only goes to show the fallacy of the ACHA Divisional systems... The top 10 teams in D2 could all easily be top 20 teams in D1, but they all choose to play at the lower division for a variety of reasons.
BUT... he said "top 2 in ACHA North"... which is one of the 4 regional divisions of ACHA M3... and they are, in fact, the current #1 and #2 in the regional rankings, with Hope on top in a 5-4 split of the first-place votes between the two. Davenport's D3 team is currently ranked 4th, and Oakland's D3 team are currently ranked 8th... so I'm struggling to see a legitimate argument that either would be 10-goal favorites over SVSU or HC, unless you really ARE talking about their D1 teams...
