Top 100 Sports Talk Radio Shows

Re: Top 100 Sports Talk Radio Shows

Talkers is just based on that one editor's opinion, like Time's Man of the Year. It basically comes down to who bought the most ads in... Talkers.

If those idiots are the TOP three, I don't even want to think about who the rest are.

Boomer and Carton are way better than Francesca. I'd even put Joe and Evan above him. He's really hit or miss.

I very much dislike anything out of IL, but Boers and Berstein are mega funny, wscr out of Chicago. I'll put them on when the WI sportstalk is dull, though Steve the Homer True is listed @ 99, and I enjoy his show quite a bit and they are on at the same time.

I like Dan Patrick, he keeps things moving along, though there is sometimes too much of the Danettes involved.

Rome is awful. All he does is keep repeating himself in between the long dead air pauses. It's funny he keeps giving out the phone number, but he never takes calls.

When I listen to sports talk - which is rare these days - I almost always put on the Score (even though I don't follow Chicago teams). B & B are great and the "Who ya crappin?" segment is usually hilarious. The morning guys are pretty good too (names escape me).

Got Les Grobstein on overnight too and while I find him at least half annoying, hearing him takes me back to the 70s and growing up listening to WLS where he was one of their DJs.

Used to listen to Patrick a lot and Rome back in the day. Both of their schticks got very old for me.

From the Minneapolis market, I was glad to see Barreiro and Common on the list, and no PA. PA is terrible, but yet seems to get a ton of attention. Barreiro bothers me sometimes, but the reason I think he's good is, quite often I disagree with him, but he argues his point well enough and in a smart way, backing up his positions, that I still listen. Basically, I disagree with him, but I respect his opinions and what he says because he usually does a good job presenting them and backing them up. Common on the other hand, I enjoy for the entertainment value, which is mostly based around ripping on the local teams.

Personally, I think Dan Patrick is the best of the bunch. I think he does a great job of breaking down a ton of things and keeping it fun and different with the Danettes. Sometimes it probably is too much Danettes but I like that way better than others on the list. It's especially fun when he gets another ex-espn guy on the show like Rich Eisen and they talk about the evil empire...

A few weeks ago on a Friday afternoon they did a call in about the worst summer job you ever had and it was just roll on the floor funny.
