The Falcons have had a lot of problems with the Panthers defense. Most of their six shots in the second were late in the period. Bobby Leiser has been spectacular in net, making several big saves, including stopping a Brian Kriner breakaway late in the second. Fitchburg State will start the first 1:47 of the third period on the power play.

By the way, my SOG guess in the first period was actually pretty close; it was 10-7 Plymouth.

Salem is trying very hard to lose this game taking a bunch of penalties in the 3rd. 5x3 for 1:35 early 3rd.

The Falcons had a lot more offensive pressure in the third, but the Panthers defense and Jack Astedt held firm. Chris Riggs actually scored with 4:30 left, but the goal was disallowed for reasons that were never explained (my guess, the net came off; it had come off several times in the period).

Plymouth State improves to 4-1-2 (2-1-2 MASCAC), and will play Westfield next on Saturday. Fitchburg State drops to 4-3 (2-3 MASCAC), and will close out the first cycle of MASCAC play on Sunday against UMass Dartmouth.
