Crap. I didn't mean penalties, I meant short-handed situations. Penalties will definitely be over 11.

Didn't get to see the games from tClassic as I didn't subscribe to the Gopher Sports feed. Hoping the effort is better this weekend with Bjugstad and Rau back. Would be nice to pick up a win for the non-conference PWR implications as well as build some momentum before a big series the following weekend in Grand Forks.

I saw the games and the effort was there that was not the issue at all, taking stupid penalties to kill momentum was the issue. In fact 5 on 5 ( the little we played it) we were looking great, moving the puck and getting quality chances.

I was curious if they were stupid penalties. I was listening on the radio and Wally and Frank seemed to be equally as frustrated with the Gophers as they were with the officiating. I missed most of the game commentary in the threads around here because I was out of town and didn't have a chance to read much of it but I sure would have thought the refs would have cut the Gophers some slack and even it up after putting them two men short twice in one game. But nope, they decided to do it yet a third time.

Glad to hear the effort was strong though. Should be even better with Rau and Bjugstad back one would think.

I agree - until they come out and prove that the glass is 1/2 full and have fixed the case of the fridays I am expecting a let down....

1. Don't fall into the Scooby Pit of Unending Pessimism. They are tied for first in the WCHA and 3rd in the country after a few seasons of not making the NCAA. They are way above 50%! What do you need? Undefeated and a goal differential per game averaging 10? (And they won 5-1 last Friday! Saturday was the problem.)
2.Due to the Superiority of the Gophs and large numbers of fans on here, every Goph thread should have a symbol at the beginning for easy finding. Lesser programs can go without the symbol.
3. I am not that excited for this game, as it is one more game I can't watch, and one more weekend of waiting to watch them, thanks to the BTN!

Are they in a better position this year than last? Yes. But much if that is the ridiculous start. I just have not been terribly impressed with their overall play lately, save last Friday.
