The List for Week of September 7, 2009

The Sicatoka

Kicizapi Cetan
I'm back for a special The List.

For what is soon to be 17 years of unprecedented professional ineptitude, the Pittsburgh Pirates are on The List. Seventeen straight seasons below 0.500. Pit. I. Ful. And I'm a Bucs fan from the "Family" days of Willie Pops, and Cobra, and Mad Dog saying this.

Worse? I can point to the play and location that began the string:

Barry freakin' Bonds (when he still had a size 6 3/4 hat), charging the ball no less, couldn't throw out Sid "no soft tissue in his knees and can't run" Breem trying to score from second on a dinky-dunk slap single by Francisco freakin' Cabrerra over short in the 1992 NLCS in Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium.

Thus beginnith the pitiful run.

Re: The List for Week of September 7, 2009

Since I'm here I may as well leave the vent valve open ...

Good grief, it's 2009, not a freakin' election year, and yet ever other bloody commercial on local TV and radio is political! Not being able to escape political ads is on The List!

Thank heavens for Pandora ...

One of the "benefits" of living near/in a state with "moderate" Democrats in elected office? ;)
