The List for Week of June 7, 2010

ajoyce02

Cake or Death?
Cancer reamins on The List.

Yesterday was the anniversary of D-Day. The men and women of The Greatest Generation are forever on the Anti-List.

The Minnesota Twins fielding at best a AAA lineup over the weekend, Listed. The fact they still won 2 of 3 in Oakland is Anti-Listed.

Getting new grips on my irons, Anti-List.

Less than 2 weeks to the St Paul Summer Beer Fest, Anti-List. If you live in the Twin Cities and like beer, this would probably be right up your alley.

Have a good week folks.

Re: The List for Week of June 7, 2010

My Anti-Listing is that my pipe and drum band, Celtic Nations, finished second in their first competition of the year, and my first ever with the band. Our sister band, Milwaukee Fire & Police, finished second in their first competition ever.

Also on the Anti-List is the Chicago Highland Games in two weeks.

My Listing is that I've got a creepy stage parent whose kid plays the same instrument I do trying to get *me* to invite *her* to play with the band.

Re: The List for Week of June 7, 2010

My 2010 Jeep Wrangler. My first new car at long last. Brand new. 380 miles. Owned it one week. Chrysler just issued a recall. LIST.

Re: The List for Week of June 7, 2010

My mom's doctor screwing with her medication is on the List. We think we finally find a regimen that will help with the tremors, pain, and emotional rollercoaster, only to have the doctor ruin it.

Re: The List for Week of June 7, 2010

Road construction on I-35W: Listed. At least they decided they could open two lanes of the four-lane highway, rather than just one.

A fun birthday, with good friends: Anti-Listed.

Good luck!

HuskyNation is supposed to be out there, but with his new job (Mega Anti-List, by the way...), he may not be able to go. His uncle is the North American president of the Clan Nisbet/Nesbitt Society, or something like that and they'll have a tent there. I'd like to go, but I have to get crap ready for a gar(b)age sale.

pssst, twitch, there are always recalls, it isn't a bad thing. Just be glad that they actually issued a recall before their mistake started killing people. :cough: Toyota :cough:

I have 3 recalls that I need to get done on my truck, I just haven't gotten around to it. I suppose I should do that some day.

Have to agree. I've had a few recalls on my Audi. Most didn't even affect my car personally. However, the day after I got one notice for the coils, they went crapola on the way home from work. Called AAA and Audi fixed everything the next day.

Verizon customer service: The List. About as useless as tits on a fish.

Consumers Energy: Anti List. For reasons opposite those of Verizon above.

Re: The List for Week of June 7, 2010

They wouldn't do anything to take care of the tree limbs I've got hanging on my lines. I've got another one hanging on an electric wire above, and Consumers appears to be willing to take care of the whole thing, while the Verizon girl sounded more interested in making a ham sandwich.

The Electric company is worried about an outage(arcing), Verizon knows tree branches hanging off their lines means diddly squat

Verizon has been on my **** list since April when they stuck me with a bunch of roaming charges for stuff I never even used. Their customer service reps might be the most worthless people on earth. And I've worked with some worthless people before.

Wow, that was quick!

You're not kidding. I heard the truck outside and just about fell off the couch. They're not going to start cutting trees tonight, obviously, but I was amazed. I expected someone to be out here tomorrow while I was at work.

Was that this past weekend that you were on 35W? They've been pretty good at keeping lanes open during rush hour times. I've made it a point to either stay off that highway south of 94 on the weekends. If I have to drive it (this coming weekend might be one of those times), I check MnDOT's site for closure concerns. I might even take 35E to Ayd Mill to 94 in order to get into Minneapolis this weekend.

Re: The List for Week of June 7, 2010

My brother graduating High School--Super-Mega-Ultra-Anti-List. Several times we heard from teachers, aides, counselors, etc that with his Asperger's Syndrome related issues, he would never finish school. Saturday morning, he will cross that stage and receive his diploma, and enter college in the fall. Take that, O Nay-Say-ers of little faith.
I couldn't be more proud of him. :)

Oh, I just mean on the north end, from Lake Drive to 694. The south end going into downtown isn't terrible, but I don't drive it northbound during the morning rush.

Congrats to Bro'diva!
