Most Olympics have a signature moment (Jesse Owens, Black Power, Miracle on Ice, Dream Team, Michael Phelps). What is the one thing that is most memorable about the 2010 Games?

Re: The Lasting Memory of the Games?

The luge death and the awful video that I don't ever need to see again...

Also, trucking in snow for skiing.

The pure joy of the American Nordic combined athletes.

Epic fail. Where's the gold medal game or the upset over the canadians? :p

Code:
The Canadian men and women both winning hockey gold on home soil

If you want to pick the upset, choose Other. :p

Re: The Lasting Memory of the Games?

The shocking performance from the US Nordic combined team. Runner-up would be the US hockey team's surprising silver medal.

Re: The Lasting Memory of the Games?

Other. IMO, the lasting memory will be Canada winning the most gold medals at any single winter olympics.

This stat really loses its meaning as more events are added to the schedule.

Wasnt really shocking as they have been putting alot of money into the program over the last decade or so. They were expected to be in the medal hunt.
Still awesome to break a podium drought.

It was surprising to me at the time, as I did not know they had been pumping so much money into it until I started reading articles. But yes, great for them to get the medals they had been in the hunt for.

Short track speed skating: South Korean #3 wipes out South Korean #2 in the final turn, so instead of a 1st-2nd-3rd place finish for South Korea, America wins silver and bronze (Apolo Ohno with the silver).
