5 Games into the new season and the Orange are .500.
Impressive win today over UConn. I. Menard gets the hat trick and Drinkwater was solid in net. Defense was especially good today keeping the Huskies to under 20 shots.
The season so far has seen some good games (win over NH and tie to NE) and some bad (BC loss). Note BC is for real and will challenge at the end of the year. Coach Flanagan is juggling the lines trying to find the right combos and it looked like it worked today. Several Freshman recorded their first points and goals, nice to see.
Cockell is looking to be a nice addition to the line up and has added grit to the team.
They need to improve a little more on team play but all in all a decent start to the year. The difference being a little more depth this year than previous seasons. Good turnouts for games as they are getting around 400-500 fans and in a small rink looks full. I hear they are adding more seating I am hoping in time for the CHA Championship.
Not sure they need it as I recall around 300 per game showed up at Wayne State last year.
Nice to see today a mini Midget AA tournament being held in Syracuse with games before and after the "Cuse" game. Great way to look at some good players. Not sure who organized this but a good idea.
