Positives
- 41 Teams now and climbing when UND cut their program there was 35
- 11 teams now in the Tournament
- ECAC-exemplifies Parity where legitimate 8-10 teams can beat one another on any given night not top heavy with selected teams
- RMU Reinstating Hockey
- Attending games since Covid
- More holiday tournament’s
- St. Thomas in the WCHA
- Professional women’s hockey
- ESPN+ overall best broadcasting of women’s college games
- Penn state hosting the Tournament
- Women’s Olympic hockey
- WCHA leading in # of USA Olympic hockey players
- ECAC Leading the Olympics in # of Olympic players
Negatives
- Covid-enough said
- RMU Dropping Hockey
- Women’s Coaches that can lose 5-10 yrs straight and not held accountable unlike the men’s side
- Div III players on Div I roster-lets face it everyone misses on what they thought if it were on the men’s side, they have the option of not bringing them up from Jr’s Women’s game not the case but Coach’s just put them up in the stands which is probably caused by what was said above
- Women’s Coaches- should have equal pay!
- ECAC Year end Tournament for the Women is not equal to the men-Treated different as Men get to go to Lake placid all 12 teams where women’s is top 8 played at the highest seed.
- 2 Pro women’s League want to grow the game but seems to be a disconnect as the NHL doesn’t want to take on the headache of making everyone happy- Looks like a money grab instead of moving the game forward should be 1 league and hopefully one day get on the same level as the WNBA
