Congrats to the SLU team, program, players and coaches on making it to Lake Placid! Now the fun is just getting started!
This team has all the ingredients to win an ECAC Championship. Having been in LP in 2000 and 2001 to watch SLU win championships, I've got that same feeling I had over a decade ago.
I've ordered my tickets and have my hotel room reserved. We'll find out soon enough who we play on Friday.
With the old SLU thread closed out, let the fun begin here!
Hope to see many SLU faithful this coming weekend.
I too remember those two weekends in 2000 and 2001 playoffs. What a joy that was!
I'll be there as well as a few others who are travelling with me. It's nice to live in Plattsburgh now and only be a mere 35-40 minutes from Lake Placid!I hope the rest of the Saints faithful show up as well and we cheer our team on to victory.
Hey, Got6, if we win the Championship this weekend are you going to create a new screen name of Got7, Want More?![]()
I am planning to be there and it'll be Got 7, Need Nine!
Extremely proud of this team and think we have the best balance, the best skating D, and the best goaltender in the league! So it's Colgate or Yale! No one has an easy game on Friday! No matter who wins the silver spoon battle in New Haven tonight!
...you again!?
...you again!?
You are not the same team we beat twice...but we are not the same team, either. Spiro is back in town ;-)
So, just to point out the obvious, I'm angry there is no consolation game. It could help every team going to LP this year after a loss on Friday, and may be the difference in as few as 1 and as many as 3-4 ECAC teams making it. Plus, if you are making the trek to LP and spending the jack, who would only rather see their team play once? Just another brainless decision by the ECAC. A few years ago, SLU wins against Princeton and gets in, ties or loses and we were out, we officially tied and then won in a shootout and even though we didn't get the result to get into the dance we needed, it was still a good game to watch. And, honestly, if SLU loses on Friday, I doubt I would stick around on Saturday and pay for another night in a hotel. Is that the way the ECAC really wants to go about getting the most fans there on Saturday. Just a bad decision all around
Here's hoping it doesn't matter for us!!
In 2007, our consolation game against Dartmouth resulted in a win that got us in. FWIW, I always enjoyed consolation games and thought they were good therapy for all involved,..........,including the fans.
