So ez?????

Re: So ez?????

tUMD waxes Clarkson 4-1 and 4-2. Discuss.
UMD is a top 8 team and Clarkson, despite their record, hasn't really beaten anyone and is in transition. They were awful last year and this year they are approaching mediocrity. Cream of the WCHA beats what is likely the 6th, 7th or 8th place team in the ECAC. Some of us expected this.

Re: So ez?????

Good comeback for the Bulldogs after a disappointing performance against the hostile and abusives.

Re: So ez?????

Let me see if I remmeber how this goes....

tUMD is skating circles around the ECHA!!

But QU swept UNO (#8) in the country with two dominating performances. I think pairety is somming to college hockey like it has to college basketball. There are going to be upsets and the bigger school will get taken down from time to time.

Re: So ez?????

Wasn't the whole point that results in January shouldn't be used to prove that the ECAC is as good as other leagues? So a 2 game January sweep proves that we're not?

Yes, Duluth won twice (while I wouldn't call them both waxing, since Clarkson hit the post 3 times last night; Monday was definitely a waxing) but they're a much better team; they were #1 in the country a month ago, and probably ticked off about getting waxed at home last week.

I think the ECAC is getting better compared to other leagues, and has some good non-league wins to show for it (and Princeton over Bowling Green doesn't count)! Now we need to follow it up with some NCAA wins, and at least get a team to the Frozen Four.

This whole hoop-la of stupid threads about how good Yale and its corresponding league is were started over the results of one game involving Yale and a WCHA team. Therefore, it only seems just, in some messed-up universe, that a new series is started once an ECAC team loses to a WCHA team.

I wouldn't take any stock in these floccinaucinihilipilificate threads. March is the time all questions will be answered.

Re: So ez?????

ECAC top 5 ( Yale, Princeton, Union, RPI, Dartmouth ) can compete with any team or league. The conference is becoming much stronger as results against CCHA and Hockey East have shown this year.

Re: So ez?????

These statements are all true as well

Actually, a more true statement would be, "BC is a top 8 team and Vermont, by looking at their record, hasn't beaten anyone."

And you know what? Going forward I'm just going to make the claim that UMD hasn't beaten anyone noteworthy either. I'm just going to presume that the WCHA and Hockey East are weak, inferior leagues without looking at actual statistics and base all of my observations off of that. Fair is fair.
