SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

I saw a couple practices already and SNC has added some speed and more size than we've had in the past several seasons.
The new D-man Campbell looks like he's got the potential to replace Tabisz on the point on the #1 PP line...
He skates like a forward and has a great shot from outside

I'll agree that the size and speed looks impressive at practice. They should have the ability to force the issue with the body more than in the past. (Scary thought right?) Are you saying that Campbell could replace Tabisz on PP 1 this year? That would be an awfully bold statement considering 28 is a 2 time all-american.

Not meaning this year, from what I have seen Campbell has the tools to man the point after Nick graduates...
The added size should give Cogs another option when he sets his forward lines this season...Should be fun to watch him juggle the lines as the season progresses..

The "newest , best, biggest, fastest" un and comer coach pushed last year was freshman D Justin F from Canada. Tim was pushing him to be the heir apprent I thought. campbell is just a little small guy isn`t that why he skates fast?

Looking at Campbell's 09 -- 10 stats in the BCHL, he scored seven of his 11 regular season goals on the PP. (8 of 12 overall). Had plenty of experience running the PP. Will see how that translates to D-3 Hockey..

Best of luck to SNC this season. After witnessing your great program and enjoying some laughs with your die hards fans in Placid in the past few years, I am a fan. Great program and great fans.

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

Any predictions for Fridays game? I'm going with a final of 8-1. The speed and size of this team is going to create matchup nightmares for teams all year long. I don't wanna put the cart ahead of the horse, but if this team stays healthy they have a great chance of playing on the last weekend of the season once again.

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

I never really liked Aerosmith, but my new favorite is Joe Perry. I wondered a little about size and physical presence by the forwards in some matchups, but between Langford's return, Stroh looking like he had a good offseason, and Perry's addition I'm now not at all concerned. It wasn't a perfect effort last night by any means, but at least part of that can be attributed to a first game effort against a team who had a couple of games in. O'Brien looked dialed in. Too bad for the breakdown in the final seconds to cost him his shutout.
