Slap, Slap, Kiss: Michigan Tech at NMU, Friday, 12/18/09

Re: Slap, Slap, Kiss: Michigan Tech at NMU, Friday, 12/18/09

I put the over/under for a "Fire Walt" or "Fire Jamie" thread showing up at 2 minutes after the conclusion of this game.

Re: Slap, Slap, Kiss: Michigan Tech at NMU, Friday, 12/18/09

Mingay calls Roque 'gutless.'

Danis calls the decision that the Kaunisto hit was a 'blind-side hit' a 'bastardization of the word blind-side.'

Our radio guys are sure fired up tonight. Hopefully the team brings as much fire.

Dirk's doing a marketing pitch for the GLI. They'll be interviewing Olson shortly.

Hanson playing on the 1 line with Olver and Florek. Gus pairing up with TJ tonight. Stewie in goal, which does surprise me.

Re: Slap, Slap, Kiss: Michigan Tech at NMU, Friday, 12/18/09

Olson:

-Hatty in the first game w/ NMU, 5 total points
-Everyone looks forward to rivalry games
-Looking for a good win to give Tech some momentum for the GLI

-Knew this was a big rivalry last season when he got "lit up" on his first shift in Marquette

-Good to have guys back from injury

-Friends with Schooley, played with him briefly in juniors
-Happy to have him on the same line

-Olson trying to improve his consistency with every shift

Re: Slap, Slap, Kiss: Michigan Tech at NMU, Friday, 12/18/09

Genoe and Stewie in nets.

Almost underway.

Re: Slap, Slap, Kiss: Michigan Tech at NMU, Friday, 12/18/09

Russell:

-Big ice will theoretically help Olver maneuver
-Need to adjust our special teams too
-Going to maintain the neutral zone adjustments from the MN games

-VanWagner and BUNGER! will play
-Brown will also dress, because VanWagner is not 100%
-Should help ease the minutes Kivisto has to play

-Genoe will start in net
-Need to keep the emotions in check
-Did a good job with that last weekend, need to maintain it

Baker-Kattelus-Dobson is starting line for Tech

We're underway and Dirk mentions the crowd is weak due to the break

Listening to Dave because he's 89739847972 times better than Dirk at identifying who did what out there.

I'm not sure if I like the frequency with which I'm hearing names of freshmen...
