This was on GMA this AM. Apparently this is a growing trend. They had a panel of kids and then a seperate one of parents. Fascinating. Kids thought it was an awful idea. The parents that like the idea were 'providing a safe environment'. The other parents thought it was akin to providing alcohol to minors.

What do you think?

The kids thought it was a bad idea because nobody wants to have sex when their parents are in the bedroom next door and know what's going on. Total mood killer. :p

They didn't say.

The girls said it was more pressure because they couldn't use the excuse their parents would not approve as a back up for saying no.

Yeah, I would think it would just be a bit creepy to have the parents around.

Curious- at what age is it OK to have sex in your parents house (for those who would answer depends on age).

The better question: Would kids WANT to have sex in their parents' home?! :eek:

Maybe this is the reasoning for wanting to do this in the first place: reverse psychology to prevent them from actually doing it.

If the parents were completely responsible and wanted to do this, they'd then base their decision upon their daughter's wishes of whether or not to do it.

?! since when is a good parent supposed to base their decision on whether their kid makes the decision or not. Parenting means that you have probably got more knowledge of what could go wrong etc. As a parent it is your responsibility to guide your kid, not the other way around. (if the kid is on thier fifth partner maybe not so much...)

If this were the basis then we would be buying alcohol, giving them money for whatever and yahoo.

If the parent is OK if the late teen has sex in the house, but the late teen is worried that he/she has just lost the best excuse, perhaps there should be some assuredness there...

Kids hell! Both me and the girlfriend are 30+ years old and we would both rather not have either set of parents know that we've done it in their house while they're there as well.

My mom got me a half-barrel and a quarter-barrel keg for my graduation party.

I think it depends on the age of the kids, and it should be more of an unspoken thing because when I was a kid I sure as hell didn't want my parents to know what I was up to. Then again, my mom would never have allowed it, having kicked out my brother's girlfriend once or twice when caught in the act, so it's a moot point.

Would you want to view, know about via sounds/accidental witnesses, etc your parents' sex life? Imagine your dad driving from behind, or your mom's head bobbing up and down.

Disturbing, ain't it? Hence my answer.

Then it's merely profitable.
