Searching for old CCHA Media Guides

Falcon Fanatic

Orange & BROWN Forever!!!
Someone contacted me looking for old CCHA media guides called "CCHA Perspectives." It had a white cover and was approximately 30 pages. He is looking for the seasons '71-'72 through '76-'77. He doesn't want to buy them, only wants photocopies of the league's composite schedules for those seasons. If you have any or know of anywhere he can obtain copies of those pages, let me know and I'll pass along the information. Thanks!

Re: Searching for old CCHA Media Guides

Is what's his face still cold calling USCHO posters in the name of some vaporware "College Hockey History" book he's supposedly writing?

I don't think the league digitized their media guides that far back, Archive.org wouldn't be much help.

Best bet is to find some old(er) BGSU and LSSU media guides that might show their old season schedule/results and build the league composite schedule from that, along with some old newspaper Googling.

Re: Searching for old CCHA Media Guides

I wonder if BGSU's Jerome Library would have some of this stuff or know where to look for it.

Re: Searching for old CCHA Media Guides

Yes, ....that's the guy....so why do you all know of him???

He's a persistent pest. Asks posters to do free research for him (for the promise of a credit in his book that never gets published, going on 15+ years now).

And it's always on the most obscure/hard-to-find stuff. Like your early CCHA media guides from the 70s.

I have suggested to him on several occasions to post here himself. Clearly he would get a lot of flack from posters, but he would be reaching a wider audience.

I don't recall him ever saying he would give credit if his book would ever be published. I don't know if that would be a good thing.

Re: Searching for old CCHA Media Guides

Falcon Fanatic? No, SHE, is most definitely not Frank Wilson.

Thank you, pdt! I am absolutely NOT Frank! He had contacted BG's Coach Eigner asking for my number, which he did not give him. Ty asked me if knew the guy and I, of course, did not. I gave him my email address instead. He never mentioned writing a book. I talked with him and said I could post a few places to try and see if anyone had them. When I mentioned that he should post his request on here, he got a little weird about it. Now that I've heard from all of you, his reaction makes sense. I shall proceed with caution. :D Thanks everyone!!

Re: Searching for old CCHA Media Guides

He's been at it since at least 2004. And roughly asking for the same material this whole time.

Honestly, if he's serious about whatever book he's writing and needs such critical information, he's going to need to sit in a library and use the Microfiche reader for newspapers during those years. Mostly local papers that covered the University for upcoming schedules and results. If he was hoping someone at BGSU would go into the CCHA closet and dig through their files for him, he's mistaken.

I apologize for any offense. None was meant. There have been times where someone has multiple accounts on here, and poses as someone else.

I was not offended at all, but thank you anyway. And I understand why you thought I was Frank, given his past here. I haven't posted on here in a LONG time (7-8 years, maybe) and am just getting back on here due to BG and the other six making their earth shattering announcement (which, btw, wasn't a big surprise to me, only that it happened much earlier than I expected and actually included other teams). It had been so long since I had posted on here that I had to reactivate the account (which was an annoying PITA, btw!). It was just prior to this that Frank contacted me. I appreciate all of the helpful comments about him, as I had no clue about his history here.
