about 5min left in the 1st and still scoreless so far. Each team is 0 for 1 on the PP

Ropponen's start is a surprise. He is a senior that has seen little ice time in his career. This is his first NCAA start (he had 1 in an exhibition game). He looked good against Wilfred Laurier and so far seems to be doing a solid job.

Roe of SCSU called for tripping at the 16:08 mark, RIT on the PP for the 2nd time.

Sounds like an evenly played period. To me, the longer RIT stays in this, the more likely they are to pull off a win.

To echo what Komey said, Roppenen starting in net is definitely a surprise. He's been the 3rd goalie pretty much his entire time to this point. He's an easy Guy to root for though and he's got the hot hand early so it looks like a great call so far

RIT gets a short-handed breakaway. No score, but LyonsDen says the RIT guy ran Lee. 12:27 to play in the 2nd, SCSU with about a minute left on that PP

SCSU with another power play coming, as an RIT defender held Hanowski.

SCSU had a chance on the delay, but fanned on a shot. 9:08 to play in the 2nd.

I say he's a goon who runs the goalie, you say he's a hard-nosed player who doesn't mind crashing the net.

SCSU power play over, now 0-3 on the advantage.
