RPI vs Union (Tournament Championship)

Re: RPI vs Union (Tournament Championship)

Nice crowd but the rink was dead without the band, especially when Union went two up. The place was morgue like. RED dominates the first ten minutes but the Union D weathers the storm. In the third three things happen 1) Union abandons their scouting reports and the things that got them there in the first two periods 2) the penalty gods swin the game in REDS favor (RARE) 3) RED’s fore check in the offensive zone becomes more aggressive and OZ puck possession time goes up.(like the first ten minutes of the first) I would not have played Alan, he was obviously not himself. REDS defense looked like the d of the recent past. I thought the tying goal was late too but on replay it was nice to see it beat the clock. Looks like Unions D took their own goalie out of the play. The winner was pretty. A d mistake on the pass and a tip over Alans left shoulder. Not his fault.Rabani's goal was nice.He surprised Kinkaid with the shot on the short side.

I think you summarized it pretty accurately though I thought the crowd did get back into it once RPI started to make its run. I couldn't understand the faceoff circle ejections either, just drop the puck already. I also thought York didn't look that sharp compared to the few previous games I've seen him play and the reports I've heard on his elevated play since late last year. One thing that bothered me in particular were a few of the vicious penalties each team took. The last thing you want to see is a serious injury though none of the calls were majors I think they well could have been.
