RPI/Union Mayors cup 1/19/17

engineerhockeyfan

PUCKMAN RULES!!!
I have very little interest in this game. Only bad can come from this. A win or a loss means nothing, but these guys don't like each other so they will play hard. Hence, the possibility for injury.
That being said, I will be rooting for an RPI win and a clean game with no injuries.

lets go red!!!!!!!!!!

Re: RPI/Union Mayors cup 1/19/17

I totally agree EHF. This will be the first time that I will not be attending this game. Going to watch bouncy ball instead, but will bring a radio to get updates on what's going on.
Once again, take good notes. Let's go RED!

Re: RPI/Union Mayors cup 1/19/17

Anyone know why there isn't a live video stream available for this game?

Because it's not on either campus and the TU Center charges a fee to use their lines. Also, the TU Center sucks as far as press boxes are concerned.

ETA: Although I think it has more to do with the latter, rather than the former.

RPI-TV did have a video of the Mayor's Cup from last year. However, because the TUC holds the rights to the broadcast, it's their decision as to when/how said broadcast may be transmitted. And given their cast looked pretty decent for where it was, I would give more of a nod to the former.

Re: RPI/Union Mayors cup 1/19/17

Anyone know what the attendance might be? Any expectations? Too bad RPI/TV is not covering.

Re: RPI/Union Mayors cup 1/19/17

Yeah, the TUC is a union(ized) building, so any "broadcast" needs to employ union production staff, electricians, stage hands, etc., which is expensive and redundant considering RPI TV does everything themselves. Ran into the same issues at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, but the league was a bit more accommodating and we got by with just a couple electricians and handymen (far below the supposedly required crew amount) who mostly sat by and watched us set up and broadcast :) .

I assume RPI TV will be there recording (with graphics) and uploading after the game per the last couple years.

I was there in Atlantic City (2012) and you guys did a great job !!! That was some production.
