RPI @ UNH, Tuesday, 10/25/14

Re: RPI @ UNH, Tuesday, 10/25/14

Haven't seen RPI in a while but UNH has a history of taking holiday/break games off and losing to an ECAC team or two at home every year.

RPI 3 - UNH 1
Tickets sold: 4,000
Actual crowd: 2,500-3,000

The weather might be the real wild card here. Assuming we are taking a bus to UNH, that could be a smooth uneventful ride or a real white-knuckle special. It's hard for me to imagine that the latter wouldn't take a toll: there might be adrenaline pumping during the bus ride itself which might have a deleterious effect on play.

You won the last one we played there. Granted, it was our fifth game in two weeks...
I can think of a number of times when we would have been expected to beat you but lost, decided to go for the reverse approach this time ;) :D

Re: RPI @ UNH, Tuesday, 10/25/14

UNH was unable to play the scheduled Friday night home game against Providence due to problems with the ice surface.

Apparently those problems were corrected in time for those two teams to play tonight, when Providence won, 1-0.

Hope the problems remain corrected at least until after Tuesday night's game.

That's what happens in inferior facilities. ;)

Could be worse, could be cancelling a game because they had to paint the ice for figure skating, and took out chunks when trying to chip it off.

Sounds like the voice of experience?

While the ECAC championships were in Atlantic City (not on the week of, but at another point in one of those years), there was a story coming from Boardwalk Hall where that actually happened.

Rain and 64 degrees out this way today. I expect the rain to be gone by the time the team gets near here. Should be a pretty uneventful ride so cross that worry off of your list!

Looking forward to seeing the team for the first time this season. Hope that we have some of the dinged up kids back.

The game notes state that Curadi, Bradley, and Bubela will be back. Questions about Schroeder, Nanne, and Miller.

Game notes have the team traveling to Buffalo Wednesday. Forecast is for snow Wednesday, have they cleared the Thruway for traffic to Buffalo yet? Could be a very scary trip.
Does anyone know if video is available from UNH?
