RPI @ SCSU (12/27 and 12/28)

Ralph Baer

Let's Go 'Tute!
Now that these are the next games for both teams, I am starting a thread.

Top three questions that need to be answered:

Will RPI continue to improve or will the layoff hurt?
Will the world end before the games are played?
Whom will Red Cloud root for? :D

We need an angry face for this thread.

SCSU looked pretty good this weekend. Looked pretty bad for the first period. Looked great for the last 90 minutes of the series. At this point of the season, you have a decent idea of the quality of a team. RPI has played a very tough schedule, but their record isn't very good. They are traveling a good distance, and they I expect an SCSU sweep based on both team's performance to this point.

RPI has a history of playing at the level of its competition, whether it is up or down. I expect to see two close games, although I certainly think that SCSU will be a strong favorite.

RPI does have three natives of Minnesota on its roster (Commers, Dolan, and Schroeder) who will be close to home for the second time this season. Also others, such as Jason Kasdorf (Winnipeg), will be relatively close to home.

Re: RPI @ SCSU (12/27 and 12/28)

For any SCSU posters that are interested in playing, I run a small forum game called Pick to Click. If you'd like to play, follow this link. If not, no harm, no foul. It's always fun to get some players from the opposing team.

As for my expectations for this weekend, I also expect two close games, but would certainly not be shocked by a Huskies sweep.

Re: RPI @ SCSU (12/27 and 12/28)

I've got news for the other team: you suck.

Also, Ralph's failure to redface this thread sucks.

Re: RPI @ SCSU (12/27 and 12/28)

If we keep playing D the way we have, this should be a sweep.
The freshmen are on fire with 17 of the last 20 goals and we should be unleashing Benik this series.

Duly noted for the purposes of my PtC choices. :p

BTW, 26 of RPI's 35 goals have been scored by freshmen and sophomores. The problem is that the team needs to score more by anyone. :(

Re: RPI @ SCSU (12/27 and 12/28)

Will either of these games have a video feed on the web? I expect 2 very competitive games which will most likely be decided by the special teams. If RPI's special teams can perform well, the games will be close. If they perform as thye have in some games this season, I might need a calculator to total the scoring against. As Ralph mentioned-in the long history of RPI hockey, we always seem to play to the competition's level-be it up or down.

All SCSU home games are broadcast online through AmericaOne. $8/game.

Unless he gets PP time, I don't know how much of a major threat he'll be to start as I don't expect him to be in our top 6, not with the chemistry they have right now.

Exactly. Morley might be just trying to stay out of Dowd/Hanowski's way, as he said postgame Friday, but the guy obviously has something going with those 2. Same with Kassila/Brodzy with Drew, but I think you could throw anyone on a line with him and they'll get their chances. Benik is going to have to work to get his ice time.

Re: RPI @ SCSU (12/27 and 12/28)

This series very much reminds me of the Ferris State series. We played them pretty even, and I expect two close games.
To be honest, I am more interested in how they come out of the series.
We have seen both sides of the coin with these guys. Very good and very bad. I expect that the team that comes out of the break is the one that I saw in New Haven.
