RPI @ Q, Friday, Jan 9

fr. joe

Retired Goalie
The league schedule resumes tonight... let's get some points this weekend, starting right now. Let's Go, Red!

Re: RPI @ Q, Friday, Jan 9

I see that columnist Brian Sullivan is declaring that the Brown Rule applies to both RPI and Princeton this weekend.

I'm not sure exactly how the Brown Rule works, but I know we don't want it associated with our team. Hope this is motivation for our guys to go out and demonstrate that they don't want Sullivan to use it in connection with RPI again.

And if they start the demonstration tonight instead of waiting until Saturday, so much the better.

Re: RPI @ Q, Friday, Jan 9

There was an interview on TV last night with Curtis Leonard and he mentioned that we are healthy for the first time since November, so it looks like Mark Miller and Lou Nanne will be returning to the lineup this weekend. Lets stop the bleeding and come out of the weekend with at least 2 points (3 or 4 would be even better!).

Hopefully they are fit to play.

Re: RPI @ Q, Friday, Jan 9

Here's hoping the team has a safe and uneventful trip to Hamden. Heavy snow and strong winds in CT right now. I-691 is impassible because of all the accidents, though they probably won't take that route. I've made the I-90 / I-91 trip from Troy to Hamden / New Haven a few times in bad weather and it is no picnic.

I was just about to write that the weather here (Middletown, NY) is cooperating and I might make the trip to Hamden later today. While I won't be traveling anywhere near the roads that you mentioned, I will be monitoring the road conditions on I-84 and a couple of the Ct roads that I would be taking. I have until about 4PM to make up my mind, Thanks for the information. It may save me from making a very dangerous trip.

I would like to see this team at full strength, they were pretty good at the beginning of the ECAC schedule.

lets go red!!!!!!!!

Can you describe any street in Troy that is a picnic in this weather? Coming up or down that hill in snow/ice is a recurring nightmare for us. I once applied the brakes around 12th street and stopped near the old Holiday Inn on 6th.;)

How about the ones going north/south? :p:D

The Brown Rule is that Sully does not pick a team to win until they demonstrate ability to do the same. At the time it was coined, people must have had high hopes for Brown, but would end up disappointing due to a lack of ability to win a game with any consistency.

Doesn't the team usually leave on Thursday? There could be a problem getting to Princeton for tomorrow's game.

Re: RPI @ Q, Friday, Jan 9

Does Q still do a free video stream? I seem to remember one in the past couple years. Granted, Yale used to have one, but then the ivies couldn't find the silver spoon up their you-know-what and demanded more. :p

Update: sun is shining brightly, roads are clear.
