Didn't want to start a new season thread until after the final four...congrats to Wisconsin!

I am always excited to look forward to another Engineer season, but maybe more so this year because a lot of our top players are returning and we have some good new recruits coming in (see last year's thread for info on some of them, and thanks as always to Ralph Baer for staying on top of the recruiting scene).

Woodcroft's father is Craig Woodcroft (Colgate '91). She lives in Geneva, Switzerland. Her older brother, Holden Woodcroft, plays for Drayton Valley (AJHL).

I don't know when it happened, but RPI received a commitment for the fall from Shattuck-St. Mary's 19U goalie Reese Keating. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqTesp2uBpH/
It is the 19U team, not the Prep team.

FWIW, she is also a golfer. https://www.tbnewswatch.com/local-n...ng-has-olympic-hockey-and-lpga-dreams-5606211 She won't be able to play both at RPI because RPI is D-III and doesn't even have a women's golf team..

Not a very exciting non-conference schedule, but given the team's standings the last few years, not surprising. Only one of 6 non-conference opponents was a top-half team last year (Vermont #11 or #12 depending on how you look at it). Engineers should be an improved team this year. Hope to get out a note shortly to summarize the roster changes. Only 95 sleeps until the puck drops on game #1.

Does anyone know if any of last year's seniors in addition to Rampado is expected back?

Yeah, a few of them, which speaks really well for the confidence in the direction of the program. Wagner for sure, Zahyrnia, I think, maybe Alexander? I will check on this, but we are going to have a lot of experience suiting up for the new season.

Trying to sort out the roster for '23-'24. Help if you can. There were 29 on the '22-'23 roster. Six left to graduate: Price; Boyce; Blitz; Dalby; Bukvic and Peterson (4 seniors are returning for a grad year: Zahirnyi, Alexander, Wagner, Rampado). Eight recruits coming in the fall: Hardy, Bailey, Rathwell, Cioffi, Skoda, Trnkova, Keating and Livingstone. That would make a roster of 31, if my math is right. I suspect it will be a bit smaller (either the odd recruit will not show up or come the following year, and perhaps the odd current player will decide not to return?). Looks promising.
