I am not confident at all. We will probably let up today after yesterday's win, and until the third period, we were badly outshot. I wonder if Watson will play again.

Oh ye of little faith - we are playing another squad that is ranked in the lower 10-15. This is not BC or Maine. This weekend could just be the shot in the arm we need to feel a bit more confident. We gave up a boat load of shots early but only 3 goals (which for us is far less than our average). We have several weaknesses that are obvious. Special teams play has been horrible and has to be the major concern at this time. This is a very winnable road game that we can take full advantage of. Odds makers had us as a slight road favorite yesterday and again today. Not expected for a team that was sitting ranked at #58 before the weekend.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but here’s a stat worth noticing:
in the second game of each weekend series (which includes Thursday-Friday and Saturday-Sunday series), RPI is 0-7 this season.
hopefully we can end that streak today. LGR!

I think when we go back in RPI hockey history, with the notable exceptions of the glory years of course and perhaps a few other years when we were able to break the 20 win barrier, we have always been a bit poorer performing in the second game of a two game weekend series. It is obviously become more noticeable now that we are losing far more games than we win. Today being an unusually early start time will undoubted favor the better conditioned team and i would think the home team that gets to sleep in their own beds as opposed to a road team.

As long as you include the word "could", I agree. :-) It is certainly winnable, but we still have to want to win.

As long as they stay out of the box, I believe they will win.

I believe you are absolutely correct and that statement could apply to many of their games this year. There is just something so structurally wrong about our approach to playing on special teams that has gone on for so long. With that in mind I have to feel it cannot be the boys. The roster changes each year but our special teams play does not.
