RPI @ Bentley, Friday, 11/20/15

Re: RPI @ Bentley, Friday, 11/20/15

So, RPI will be practicing their trap against Bentley to use against UNH next Tuesday?

Not exactly. The thought is if RPI will be looking forward to preparing for UNH that they'd think Bentley is "just another game". Hopefully not, given last year's pasting.

I have zero concern that the players suited up will treat this as one of their most important games and give everything they have. With the parity seen so far, you just cannot take anything for granted and with a chance to slip far down in rankings, you just do not want to lose unless it is to a top ranked team. My pressing concern is how the coach treats this game. Who will he choose to play and for how long?. We have 3 top players hurt and perhaps 2 could come back and play. Both are first line players and could contribute a lot and at the same time allow two others who have played during this last unbeaten streak to have a little extra rest for the UNH game. Also would give the two returning players a chance to use this game to get back into the rhythm of the game. Or will SA keep them out for an extra few days of rest and insert them for UNH? Of course, this is assuming that they are injury free and ready to go 100%
I do not think we see Tironese back even if he is 100% (which I doubt). I suspect if his injury is in any way severe, he is either out longer, or out much longer meaning possibly the year. I do expect Milos and Kassie back either this game or next.

RPI needs to keep Bentleys first line off of the scorers sheet. Bentley has a terrific first line that has accounted for most of Bentleys points this season so far. RPI needs to contain that line. If they do RPI will win. If they don't I expect a similar result as last year.

BTW took off last Friday to go see junior and catch the Yale game. Terrific experience as always, lots of good and knowledgable RPI fans around us. Met a friendly fellow who showed up with a cow bell. Not sure if he is on this forum but we had a terrific conversation as he also had ties to RIT as I do. Hope to see more home games before junior graduates.

Nonetheless I've seen Bentley three times this year and was impressed with French and Gladiuk. Stopping them will be the key to the game.

Re: RPI @ Bentley, Friday, 11/20/15

I am going to be in Massachusetts tomorrow and called Bentley to try to get tickets for the game. I was told that tickets were only sold at the arena and that the box office didn't open until about a half hour before game time. He also told me that they almost never sell out.
It all sounds very strange to me, but I will be there hoping to get in.

Seems a little odd, as I would think they would want to sell advance tickets in order to get guaranteed revenue, whether or not the butts are in the seats. I can understand their policy for general admission, though.

Strange it is. But, if you get to the JAR a half hour early, you should have no problem getting a ticket, and you can watch warm ups as a bonus, get a sense of where the boards lead to odd carooms, find the rest rooms, and scope out the lunch counter. I highly recommend standing behind the glass at rink level near the entry, which is about as close to the action as one can get at the JAR.

nice to meet you also. Rit will be in Troy next year so two jerseys might be required that night!

Sounds like there will be a good contingent of RPI fans there...myself and a few of our group will be there as well.
